立体構造解析を主な手法として機能性核酸分子の研究に取り組んでいます。今後は新規核酸医薬品やDNAナノマテリアルの開発を計画しています。現在の主な研究課題：黄色ブドウ球菌glyS T-box/NPtRNAGly複合体の立体構造解析、tRNA医薬品とmRNA医薬品のStructure-based design、DNA-AgナノクラスターのX線結晶構造解析、DNA-Agナノクラスターを応用した新規DNAナノマテリアルのデザイン等。
