『恋の骨折り損』が初演されたと推定される頃、フランス宗教戦争は最終局面にあり、そのクライマックスはアンリ4世のカトリックへの改宗であった。プロテスタント国イングランドで、カトリック信仰を貫いたと思われるシェイクスピアが、いかにフランスの宗教事情を劇に織り込んだかを考察する。

（教育実績）児童書を使用した英語教育

英語を専門としない学生にとって、児童文学の利用は、興味の喚起に役立つ。絵本からヤングアダルトまで、順に配列することで、より大きな効果が期待できる。高度な語彙は期待できないが、中高の英語教育で欠落しがちな生活語彙を拾うことができる。また、絵本などはリズミカルな文章で書かれることが多く、音読教材にもふさわしい。
