1. Differential equation is a fundamental tool for describing the behavior of dynamical systems. However, when the differential equation is with nonsmooth right hand side, the definition of solution, existence condition and the analysis tool should be revisited. In the community of mathematics, discontinuous differential equation is not a new issue, however, it is still an open problem to introduce the new mathematical results to control theory for handling the discontinuities in dynamical systems. The recent research on control theory is focused on the development of analysis and design theory for discontinuous systems. 2. On the other hands, applying the nonlinear control, adaptive control and robust control theory to the advanced engine-powertrain control methods is main mission in application research, which is cooperated with some automotive companies.(Subject of research) Advanced Engine Control Theory ● Control Theory for Improving Dynamical Performance of HEV

General Chairとして、上智大学理工学部現代GPプログラム「グローバル社会における系統的科学英語教育」一環として、「Workshop on Advanced Control Theory and Technology」をオーガナイズし、海外から三名の著名が学者を招いて院生向けを講演を行い、同時にコメンテータとして大学院生、学部四年生の研究発表について、英語表現力の指導を含め研究指導を行った。
