現代日本語の文法・語彙全般に関心があるが、特に類義表現の意味記述と効果的なトレーニング方法を探っている。また、体系的で持続可能な会話教材コンセプトの開発を目指すとともに、テキストの構成をマクロ・ミクロの両面から検討し、言語能力をいかに的確に測定し評価するかの方法を模索している。
