本学文学部史学科および大学院文学研究科史学専攻の講義・ゼミナールにおいて、日本戦国期から近世初期にかけての宗教と社会の関係、および日欧文化交流の実態を解明しようとしている。とくに、わが国の日欧文化交流史を、西洋史とのつながりにおいて、その淵源からとらえる試みをつづけている。

Nov, 2006 - Mar, 2007本ゼミに入り、博士課程に在籍している大学院生の海外学術会議並びに調査に積極的に参加する機会をつくるべく、大学院生の学会参加、調査を奨励し、それにもとづく報告書と発表によって研究者としての実体験を積ませた。実際は、２００６年マカオにおける国際シンポジウムの参加、２００７年の北京国家図書館のキリシタン版調査に帯同した。また、長崎歴史都市研究のための長期滞在を実施した。

2002 - 2007卒業論文作成者を主たる対象として、毎年一回、合宿拡大ゼミを実施している。\n卒業論文作成者には、論文内容の提示および参加者からの質疑対応、その他の参加学生には学会発表形式で質疑、コメントなどの実地訓練を施す。
