The lecture attempts first of all to confirm the fundamental characteristics of Jesuit Pedagogy as presented in two recent documents dealing with the subject, namely, The Characteristics of Jesuit Education (1986), and Ignatian Pedagogy. A Practical Approach (1993), and second, it seeks to attain an overview of the theory of “Co-Active Coaching,” and to tackle the issue of the role expected of teachers in Jesuit pedagogy.
